Okay. Can we just look at this.
Everyone is going on about how the Winchesters, especially Dean, did nothing at all while Hester was beating the crap out of Castiel. Apparently, several Destiel shippers are even changing their minds about the two and jumping ship.
But please, just look at this.
Dean leaps forward the second Hester punches Cas. His expression is one of panic, and anger, and fear. He is clearly about to dive right in there and help Cas, but stops because he is about to be smote by an angel. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON.
The expression on his face gives away how much he loves Castiel. He looks so angry at Hester for what she’s doing to him, and is obviously afraid for Cas. The second he realises he can’t help Cas, his eyes focus on him straight away, because he has to see what’s happening to him. He is NOT just letting him get hurt. Dean tried to help Cas, and could have been smote in the attempt.
